Falcon Freight have recently travelled across europe, transporting a Potain T85 self erecting crane from Belley in France. This is one of a few abnormal loads we will be fetching from France in the coming weeks. Falcon owns one of the largest and most diverse fleets of self-erecting tower cranes in the UK, With up to 50m jib lengths, 38m height under the hook and maximum capacity of 8t. Falcon are delighted to announce the acquisition of TJ Robins Ltd, a specialist crane haulage company, based in Dunstable, near Luton. TJ Robins was established in 1919 and runs a fleet of 8 Scania trucks with Fassi and Palfinger cranes ranging from 45TM to 80TM. Included in the acquisition is a 2.1 acre site just off the M1 motoway, which makes it perfectly placed for haulage into London, the South West and the Midlands.

Falcon Tower Crane Services Ltd, which owns 12 HGV’s of their own, will amalgamate the TJ Robins company and the haulage department within the tower crane division to establish a new entity called Falcon Freight Ltd. This new company will be run as a separate, independent haulage division of the group.

A spokesperson from Falcon says ‘Haulage has always been an essential part of our business, moving crane components all over the country. Over the years, we have developed the skills and expertise to successfully manage a fleet of trucks, recently obtaining the FORS Gold accreditation. It is logical that our next step should be an investment in the infrastructure of our own haulage business, which includes a yard in a central UK location. With depots in Norfolk, Manchester, Scotland and now Dunstable we are perfectly placed to deliver a good, reliable service to both our crane business and the existing TJ Robins Ltd customers.
